How many times have you been knocked down?
I? For many as you can magine. You see, being a freelancer is not easy. Constant pitches, reading, writing and marketing – and the competitive ceiling is still higher (at least in my view).
But then I my heart refuses to give up; my mind still feels there’s always a better, predictable opportunity.
When you become immune to problems and challenges, you become a relentless optimiser – on both work and life.
Fall in love with losing; that’s when you realise the value of glimmer in winning.
On the contrary, winning again and again teaches us how to comer back to our baseline happiness and contentment.
Frankly this is the dance of losing and winning – not a zero-some game. We lose some things in life and we win some things in life. This is the holistic view of losing and winning.
Now, you may ask why love to lose and like winning?
Because losing gives us the optimistic edge; teaches us lessons which people drew before we did; and sometimes it doesn’t even matter in the long-term.
To lose is to feel freedom – freedom of starting over from every endearing winning bet we took. Every losing experience makes us wiser, stronger and sharper.
And why like winning?
Because every lost opportunity or failure arms us with his indefatigable spirit to tell ourselves – ‘this too shall pass’.
So I’m not asking you to constantly love losing and only like winning. All, I ask for is to become a student of your life and learn the lessons in both – winning and losing.
While the learning contexts may be different for all of us; but being self-aware of why we should love to lose and like winning should be a constant.
The right, repetitive learning can take us closer to self-realisation and ‘yes, winning’ in the end in our own consciousness.
Only when we learn to love can we truly like something deeply.
