Reading books need your widened attention spans and deep focus.
In my due honesty, I’m a self-proclaimed, voracious reader. And so, if you ask me who is my favourite reader, it is myself!
I’ve read and tuned plentiful about ‘reading the room’ on Nick Hague’s World’s Greatest Business Thinkers podcast conversation with Dr. Kirsten Ferguson. And I am spell bound by it.
Just imagine living and consummately experiencing so many lives in one fragile life just with the power of reading – books, people, places and experiences. Yes, you eventually get good at your observation skills when you read a lot.
So when someone asks you what are you really good at?
Just say, ‘gazing and dazing the travesty of life’.
You’ll realise eventually that you are your favourite reader – someone who knows how to navigate career and life.
A very many are curious of the next best award going to their favourite author, but very few truly know what’s the author’s intent and if the book has transformed their thinking and lives in general.
This is where a reader comes in – my favourite example? The legendary Warren Buffett. And also, I reckon it to be Naval Ravikant!
Not sure about reading 500 pages a day – but I’ll always do my best to read as much as I can.
Perks – you comprehend better; you sleep better; feels like you have intellectually achieved and realised and reflected on something deeply!
