Contributions

Dare to Lead by Brene Brown is a stunner!

In the book, she talks about the value of contributions over criticism.

Anyone can criticise; anyone can balk and prod; anyone can make you feel inadequate – but you have the reigns on and for yourself.

To contribute is to serve – unconditionally. Without feeling you’re a people pleaser. Contribute with purpose and a sense of commitment to make this planet a better place to live.

When we collectively contribute, the metrics change – we become creators and contributors of a bigger mission.

Metrics? The practicing of kindness and the amplification of generosity makes people healthier, more altruistic and builders of meaningful solutions that solve better problems.

No more vanity that is banal. Instead vanity which is fundamentally strong, valuable, and supportive.

These contributions can be planting more trees, or making your child strong to become combative in a positive sense, or giving valuable suggestions in a board meeting that can change the way people think before they think! (Yes, there’s a book written on this!)

So next time when someone criticises you, balance it with what worked for them or anything positive they learnt for which they could share their thoughts.
