I’m currently reading a profound book by the prolific author Elif Shafaq.
The book is called ‘There Are Rivers In The Sky’. So beautifully captured title, as I expressively write about it.
So you may wonder, how come I titled this blog post ‘Meditative Reading’?
Let’s unlayer this.
Reading fiction has changed my life; reduced massive stress that I was always carrying on my shoulders; and objectively cleansed my emotional overload when I found a resonance with the author’s words.
We all want a deep sense of connection with people – the ones we know and the ones we want to know.
Giving certainty its due, I have been meditating since 5 years when I enrolled for the Ziva Meditation online course. And, once I graduated from the course, I wasn’t the same Aditi I aspired for.
And, meditation paired with reading has always given me a expansive view of how liberated you feel, once you know you are in communion with so many authors’ innermost worldviews and emotions.
Reading, too; yes the paperback version I reckon, gives you a directional escape from the vague reality. Ironically put? Yes. But books have the ability to take us to higher levels of consciousness and awareness that once transported to those realms, elevates our minds and its said and unsaid comprehension levels.
This experience of meeting our undercurrent reality with the calling of our higher selves is what I call meditative reading!
So, keep reading and go deep in your silence to unlock your voice to the world that needs to tune into you.
