December is one such month, that even it being the last month, it brings us a renewed perspective.
I personally savour this month the most- though after reading Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project, I love and cherish all the natural themes and moods and energies of our months.
But there’s something about December: a grateful feeling of viewing in retrospect and seeing how far we have come in our evolutionary lives.
Every December is a hope, an [eager] anticipation, a yearning curiosity of what lies ahead. So, why not make it special when it comes?
Here’s how I am going to make it special:
– Make my favourite brewed cuppa coffee
- Infuse my reading room with the warm, fuzzy afternoon light so that my circadian rhythm is invigorated.
- See the Tsundoku ahead of me – yes, the unread books – and calenderize my reading time so that I can finish some books. You see, the more you slow down, the better clarity you have about what matters to you. The best part? You’ll process your emotions better and improve your overall cognition, too.
- Read more fiction so that I sleep even better [Mantra – Non fiction in the day, and fiction in the night]
- Be grateful for the beautiful family that I am blessed with.
- Revisit how I will shape my personal brand on the Web.
- Stick to my twice a day meditation practice – especially the afternoon one relaxes me even more. (Call it purging or catharsis, I love every bit of it.)
- Write my top 3 goals for next year and make them more nuanced so that I can incrementally and confidently achieve them with grace.
- Understand that solitude is an upgrade as beautifully put by peaceful Barbara on Instagram. (She is a must-follow if you are looking for ‘peaceful’ life nuggets.)
Wishing you all a merry Christmas and sending love and prayers to all.
